Our restaurant is located in the heart of the old town next to the most beautiful square in Zurich in one of the oldest houses of the city facing St. Peter’s church – a gastronomic institution for over 115 years (and still remained an insider tip, even for locals!)
Weinstube – a small piece of home
«Pinte valaisanne» and «Café vaudois» are the writings on the over 100 years old etched windows of the Weinstube, the heart of our restaurant. This binds us to keep the tradition alive – not only by offering a rich selection oft only the best Swiss wines and a fine and honest way of cooking. Those names stand equally for a heart warming hospitality, which is truly lived by us. Let’s give you a very warm welcome!
Goethestübli – noble cozyness
The famous German writer J.W. Goethe used to reside in this house – long before it was a restaurant – mentioning in his notes, how very well fed he was during his stays in Zurich. Nowadays you can still enjoy the beautiful view of St. Peters Church trough his former bedroom window while having a delightful dinner in the intimate atmosphere of the “Goethechamber” on the first floor of the restaurant.
You can book the chamber for your private party (for up to 26 people). Don’t hesitate to ask us.
Garde – hidden treasure during city summer
Sometimes you just have to take one more turn to find a real oasis away from the buzzing summer nights with its crowded boulevards. Our terrace is located at the base of St. Peters Church in a small hidden corner where you are welcome to enjoy the lightness of our dishes according to the warmer season. If only for a small appetizer or for the full joy of our summer gourmet menu: come and enjoy the summer in the heart of the historic old town under a palm tree.
